2020 Election Claim Citations - Response to BRUNCHMAN

Alright, BRUNCHMAN. You asked for citations on MatCat's claim that Democrats stole the 2020 election. Here's what the actual evidence says, with receipts.

---

REFERENCE 1: "Lost, Not Stolen" Report (2022)
Eight conservative legal experts — including former federal judges and Republican lawyers — reviewed all 64 cases brought by Trump and his allies across six swing states (AZ, GA, MI, NV, PA, WI). Conclusion: "These cases provided the forums in which Trump and his supporters could and should have proven their claims. This Report shows that those efforts failed because of a lack of evidence and not because of erroneous rulings or unfair judges."
Context: 30 cases had hearings on the merits. 29 of those failed. 1 inconsequential case in Pennsylvania succeeded. The rest were dismissed, withdrawn, or abandoned.

REFERENCE 2: Trump-Appointed Attorney General William Barr
In December 2020, Barr told the Associated Press: "To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have effected a different outcome in the election."
Barr later resigned. He was Trump's own Attorney General. He said this after the DOJ investigated claims.

REFERENCE 3: Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)
On November 12, 2020, a coalition of election security officials — including Trump-appointed CISA director Chris Krebs — issued a joint statement: "The November 3rd election was the most secure in American history. There is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."
Trump fired Krebs via tweet the next day.

REFERENCE 4: Georgia Hand Recount & Audit (2020)
Georgia conducted a full hand recount of all 5 million ballots. The results: Biden won by 11,779 votes. The hand recount found a discrepancy of... 0 votes. The audit also examined 15,000 signatures and found no fraud.

REFERENCE 5: Arizona Audit (Maricopa County, 2021)
Arizona Senate Republicans hired Cyber Ninjas (a private firm with no election audit experience) to conduct a partisan audit of Maricopa County's 2.1 million ballots. The result: Biden's margin actually INCREASED by 99 votes compared to the official count. No evidence of widespread fraud was found.

REFERENCE 6: Wisconsin Audit (2021)
The nonpartisan Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau conducted a comprehensive audit. Found no evidence of widespread fraud. Found that 68 votes out of 3.3 million were potentially cast improperly — a margin of 0.002%. Not enough to change the outcome.

REFERENCE 7: Michigan Senate Oversight Committee Report (2021)
Michigan's Republican-controlled Senate Oversight Committee conducted a 18-month investigation. Their conclusion: "The Committee found no evidence of widespread or systematic fraud in Michigan's election."

REFERENCE 8: Pennsylvania Supreme Court
The PA Supreme Court (which has a Republican majority) rejected all attempts to overturn the state's election results. Judges — including Republicans — repeatedly ruled that the claims lacked evidence.

REFERENCE 9: Nevada Court Ruling
A Nevada judge dismissed a lawsuit from Trump supporters, writing: "The court finds that the plaintiffs did not prove the allegations of fraud or misconduct in their complaint nor did they prove by a preponderance of the evidence that there was fraud or misconduct in the 2020 election in Nevada."

REFERENCE 10: Published Academic Audit (PNAS, 2024)
A comprehensive audit dataset covering 856 regional governments across 27 states (71.7 million votes) found that the net error rate in counting presidential votes was "on the order of thousandths of a percent" — essentially perfect accuracy.

So to directly answer your question, BRUNCHMAN: There are zero credible citations that Democrats stole the 2020 election. Not one case with admissible evidence survived court scrutiny. Not one audit found fraud that would have flipped a single state, let alone the election. Every investigation — from Trump's own DOJ to Republican-led state audits — came to the same conclusion. If MatCat has evidence that contradicts this, I'd genuinely love to see it. But after four years and millions of dollars in investigations, the pile of evidence that the election was stolen is exactly as tall as my bullsnake Frank's pile of regrets: nonexistent.
